About Us - Julie Ferman

Proposed

About Julie Ferman — Matchmaker & Dating Coach Since 1990

57 characters — fits fully in Google. Use exactly as written; the brand name is already in it, so no site-name suffix should be appended.

Why: The title is the clickable blue headline in Google. Search Console shows this page appears almost exclusively for searches of Julie’s name (“julie ferman”, “julie ferman matchmaker”) — the current title carries no profession keyword at all. We add “Matchmaker & Dating Coach” plus the “Since 1990” trust signal, and keep Julie’s name first because that’s what people actually type.

Meta Description

Now

None. The page has no meta description, and the share preview shows “There is no excerpt because this is a protected post.”

Proposed

Meet Julie Ferman — matchmaker & dating coach since 1990. 1,400+ couples matched, four iDate Best Matchmaker awards. Los Angeles, Santa Fe & Denver.

148 characters — fits fully in Google’s snippet.

Why: The description is the grey text under the blue headline in Google — it doesn’t affect ranking directly, but it decides whether someone clicks. Right now Google has to invent one. This version front-loads the three strongest proof points: 35+ years of experience, 1,400+ couples, and the four-time industry award.

Page Settings — Make Public & Fix Share Preview

Now

The page is set to “Password protected” in WordPress — so Google sees “Protected: About Us” and the share preview text reads “There is no excerpt because this is a protected post.” On top of that, sharing this page on social media shows the homepage preview instead of the About page itself.

Proposed

The page becomes a normal public page. Sharing it shows its own title and description (the ones above), and the “Protected:” label disappears everywhere.

Why: These are technical fixes from the earlier spec — listed here so the whole change set is approvable in one place. No visible design change on the page itself.

Schema: AboutPage + Person

AboutPage + Person schema — invisible markup added to the page’s HTML. It tells Google and AI assistants, in their own language, that this page is the official biography of Julie Ferman — her awards, her locations, and her profiles elsewhere on the web — and connects it to the Julie Ferman identity that already exists across the site (so it doesn’t create a “second” Julie). Visitors see no visual change.

One placeholder remains: the URL of Julie’s headshot photo — we’ll set it once the photo is chosen.

Why: This is the same schema from the earlier fix spec, with two corrections after fact-checking: the awards list now matches the new copy (four-time iDate 2010–2013 + NAWBO), and foundingDate is set to 2001 — the year Julie’s own practice launched (1990 was her industry start, and the schema must not contradict the page’s own “since 2001” hero line). It links to the site-wide @id #person entity so Google sees one consistent Julie Ferman.

Julie, please confirm: all four office addresses are current, and which headshot we should use.

About Julie

Julie Ferman is a professional matchmaker and dating coach, media personality, professional speaker, singles events producer, and consultant to the matchmaking and dating industry. Working in the dating world since 1990, she has personally registered more than 39,000 single men and women and is credited with over 1,400 success-story couples — relationships, engagements, and marriages that began with her introductions.

Julie’s path into matchmaking is itself a success story. In 1990, in her hometown of St. Louis, she walked into Great Expectations — then the nation’s largest video-dating service — as a client, and ended up marrying Gil, the owner of the center. She spent the following decade inside the dating-service industry before launching her own practice in 2001, built on a more personal, more dignified approach to matchmaking. She has been hand-matching relationship-minded singles ever since.

Julie’s mission is to dignify and streamline the dating and love search process for relationship-minded professionals. Her personal matchmaking hubs are Los Angeles, Denver, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and she collaborates with matchmaking colleagues across the country and globally.
